9 days Cultural Adventure
Day 1 Arrival in Tanzania
Your private guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and brings you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay.
Day 2 Lake Manyara National Park
Your first spectacular game drive in this Culture Adventure Safari will be in Lake Manyara National Park. After a 3 hours drive you arrive at the park. Enjoy a full day in this beautiful and relatively small park, which is famous for the large numbers of flamingos and the tree climbing lions. At the end of the afternoon you will head to Karatu for overnight.
Day 3 Hadzabe Bushmen and Datoga
Today the Cultural Adventure Safari will bring you to Lake Eyasi, about 1 hour drive. Lake Eyasi is a salt lake and here you will meet the Hadzabe Bushmen. The Hadzabe are a completely different tribe than most of the Tanzanian tribes and they communicate by making clicking sounds. They still live very traditional and survive by hunting small animals with bow and arrow. The Hadzabe show you their skills and if you like it, they can teach you how to shoot an arrow.
The Datoga tribe has a nomadic background and they are traditionally farmers and craftsmen. They decorate themselves with beads and accessorize copper bracelets and necklaces.
Day 4 Via the Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti
Today you will descend 610 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for an impressive game drive. The crater is also known as ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ and is absolutely unique. One of the highlights is the endangered Black Rhino, which you can spot with some luck. In the afternoon you will start your journey to Serengeti National Park for an overnight stay and the ultimate “Out of Africa” experience.
Day 5 Serengeti National Park
Immerse you in the splendors of the Serengeti today with a full day game viewing in the park. Explore the incredible concentration of wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, elephants and wildebeest. At the end of the day you return to your accommodation at Serengeti for a beautiful sundowner and overnight stay.
Day 6 Serengeti National Park
Today you can enjoy another great private safari through Serengeti, on your way towards Karatu. At the end of the afternoon you will arrive at your accommodation in the charming Karatu village.
Day 7 Colorful Mto wa Mbu & authentic Maasai boma
After breakfast your guide drives in the direction of Tarangire. On your way you can visit Mto wa Mbu. In this lovely village you meet the local people with a village walk or guided mountain bike tour. The village represents more than 25 different tribes (of about 127 tribes in Tanzania).
Not far from Mto wa Mbu is an authentic Maasai boma (village) where we will meet mama Yamath and her children. This boma is visited by Ajabu Adventures exclusively, thanks to our close relationship with this family. After this visit you continue to Tarangire National Park to stay overnight.
Day 8 Tarangire National Park
In Tarangire National Park you can see large herds of elephants near the Tarangire River, while migratory wildebeest, buffaloes, zebras and impalas crowd the shrinking lagoons. You may be lucky to spot the tree climbing python for which the park is famous or the largest flying bird (the Kori Bustard). At the end of the afternoon you will leave the park and stay overnight at your accommodation just outside the park.
Day 9 End of your Tanzania adventure
Your cultural adventure in Tanzania has come to an end. Your safari guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight home. Or how about adding a few extra days of complete relaxation and fly to Zanzibar instead?
