In the east Tanzania is bordered by the Indian Ocean, containing a wealth of corals, fish and sea turtles. Going to the west, you will find Lake Tanganyika, the deepest lake in Africa. The central area of the country is a highland plateau, ranging from 900 to 1800 meters in altitude.
